Art in the Public Eye, Inc. (APE, Inc.) is a not-for-profit arts organization based in Glens Falls, New York. Our Mission is to cultivate a partnership between the area arts community and local businesses, to promote established and emerging artists and local commerce, and to create greater access to the arts through cultural activities and public exhibitions.
APE, Inc. is the proud sponsor of a variety of public arts programs and offers unique support services to working artists. Third Thursday Glens Falls Art Walk is a free event that is open to the public on the third Thursday of each month May through October. After five years of success with this event, we have decided it is now time to widen the breadth of programming to reach a larger audience. Outdoor Cinema is the newest event - learn more here! Liz Wilcox is President of the Board of Directors, Executive Director of APE and founder of the Third Thursday Glens Falls Art Walk. Liz is a supporter of the arts as well as a studio photographer by trade and a fine art photographer for fulfillment.

Vice President
Faith St. John is Vice President of the Board of Directors. Faith is a professional Graphic Desinger who creates all design and graphic art for APE and its various programs.
Jennifer Kraft
Secretary/Treasurer
Jennifer Kraft is Secretary and Treasurer of the Board of Directors and Marketing Director for APE. Jennifer has a sales and marketing background in the arts. She manages the website as well as all print and electronic advertising. In addition to marketing efforts, she is involved with grant writing and APE's student internships.

Board Member
Kate Austin is a Board Member on the Board of Directors. and involved with Promotions for the Third Thursday Glens Falls Art Walk. She is a working artist with a studio in the Shirt Factory. Diane Swanson
Diane Swanson is Program Director of the Third Thursday Glens Falls Art Walk.Diane is a visual artist that has exhibited consistently with the Third Thursday Glens Falls Art Walk. She has many years of experience directing art exhibits and is a member of several local arts organizations. If you are interested in participating in the Art Walk as an artist or venue, please contact her for more information.

Third Thursday Glens Falls Art Walk artist's receptions are held at various locations in downtown Glens Falls on the Third Thursday of each month from 5-8 p.m. Come experience the wealth of talent our area offers - visual artists, writers, musicians and filmakers. Enjoy lectures, artist demonstrations and theatrical performances, as well as our annual Sidewalk Art celebration. The Third Thursday Glens Falls Art Walk is a great way to get out and about in Downtown, check out some artwork and meet the artists who create it! Maps of exhibiting venues are available at Lapham Gallery at LARAC, Red Fox Books and UnCorked.

Join APE for movies under the stars! We will screen first-run, classic and cult favorites all summer long at the corner of Bay & Glen Street in Glens Falls. FREE ADMISSION! (donations welcome!). Proceeds from concession sales will help fund future APE Outdoor Cinema events. Bring your own seating...blankets, lawn chairs, bean bags - be creative.

Transforming the walls of city buildings to tell a story of our history and culture through vibrant painting. The Mural Project is expected to go into full swing in the spring of 2011. What we need: professional mural painters, illustrators, mural themes (keep an eye out for city-wide contests in the future), and volunteers to help assist our mural painters. If you would like to request a mural for an exterior wall of your commerical building, please email us at info_artinthepubliceye.com for information on how to get started.
All APE events are dependent on public financial support and funding from grants.
Due to these factors, programming is subject to change.
We offer assistance to artists who are setting up their first website. This service includes set up of domain name, hosting, and low-cost flash website templates. We can also offer customization of templates for an additional fee. Please contact us for more information at info_artinthepubliceye.com
Each year we will feature new trips, workshops, and guest lectures for our arts-focused followers. More information coming soon!
Our art yellowpages will be a comprehensive directory of arts services, supplies, classes, and more. If you would like to list your business in this directory please send your contact information toinfo_artinthepubliceye.com and you will be added to the databse. This is an ongoing project and names, addresses, and numbers are always changing. If you find an error in our listings please let us know so we can correct the problem quickly and keep the directory as current as possible.

The Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council (LARAC) was founded in 1972 by a coalition of arts-minded residents. Its mission is to enrich the quality of life in Warren, Washington, and Northern Saratoga Counties by supporting arts and culture through promoting, developing, sponsoring, networking, coordinating, and providing arts activities and services.

SAW hosts a community of diverse artists, providing residencies, workshops, community programs and lectures. The driving vision of SAW is the belief that community fosters growth in all endeavors, particularly artistic development and expression.The best liberal and fine arts education requires not only classroom instruction, but also interaction with the world outside.
Constitution - Mori Shizume
Original color serigraph, hand signed and numbered. Unframed. (image 5 x 31 1/2 inches; poster 29 x 37 1/4 inches).
Mori Shizume was born in Tokyo in 1928. He studied economics while at university in Tokyo. He came to the United States after World War II, and studied physics and sculpture in California. Since that time, Shizume has drawn many of the world's greatest cities like Rome and Paris. His artwork has been featured in one-man exhibitions in New York, London, Paris and Tokyo. He has also created artwork, buy commission for the United Nations, Smithsonian Institution and New Yorker magazine.
